Lunar mosaic

Hi

Here is a link to a lunar mosaic (warning 189Kb), made up of 14 AVI’s from 18/19th Feb. The mosaic covers the very interesting regions of:

Rupes Recta, Ptolemaeus, Alphonsus, Arzachel, Albategnius, Hipparchus and Sinus Medii.

http://www.iceinspace.com.au/downloads/dennis-lunar.jpg

The BMPs from processing the AVI’s in Registax were saved as straight JPGs for input into Autostitch.

The original jpg from autostitch was:
1471 x 1971 pixels
1.417Mb file size

The image in the link below is:
189Kb file size
Re-sampled to 963 x 1280 pixels
40% JPG compression

As the file exceeds the Forum size and pixel guidelines, I e-mailed it to Mike who kindly provided the http link – thanks Mike!

Cheers

Dennis

Very very nice Dennis, loads of detail and lots to look at. And not oversharpened either. Great job.

Dennis, this is wonderful stuff, the detail and sharpness of any one frame would have been something to be proud of, but this is a veritable fields of lunar marvels to graze on - never seen so many rilles and crater complexes

in-bluddy-credible!

Thanks for those nice words guys - you should see the original 1.4Meg file on a rotated 1600x1200 LCD display - I could spend hours poring over the detail in there.

Again, it was a question of being in the right place at the right time for some wonderful seeing conditions. I've never experienced such steady seeing so frequently as of late.

Not forgetting a VERY understanding wife who lets me sit all day processing AVI’s after being up all night acquiring them.

Cheers

Dennis
