Who's this Little Guy?

This little fellow was a regular visitor to our campsite during a recent trip to Gloucester Tops.

Didn't seem to mind me following him about, trying to snap a pic.
At one stage he even perched himself on my big toe while I had my feet up reading a book.

My father insists he is a Willy Wagtail but, aren't they black and white?

Cheers
Deeno

It's the Twitter mascot.

They're so cute Deeno, nice shots mate.
We have them up here, lovely colours.
I don't think they're Willy Wagtails though, but what do I know?

Male Superb Blue Wren, Superb Fairy Wren, Malurus cyaneus

You're correct, wagtails are black and white.

They're lovely little things. He should have had a group of females and juveniles with him. They look the same except that they are basically just brown. They are pretty oblivious to people but I've never had one perch on my toe!

Some nice pics of the Superb Fairy Wren.
David, I don't know if you are referring to image #3 when you say you have never had one perch on your toe?
The bird is perched on a Sandal without a foot in it
So I suppose neither has Deeno

Great shots Deeno.
These fellas move very fast and are difficult to capture on camera.

Interesting, we don't get that one over here in the west.
We do have the Splendid Fairywren though, which are not nearly as friendly and are sometimes pretty hard to get close enough to photograph without a hide.
