Lightbridge has arrived?

Can anyone confirm or deny that the Meade lightbridge scopes have landed.
I received a email from a Queensland scope store, that said they had received theirs.
All the dealers in Sydney tell me that they are still 3 weeks away John

I will Geoff if you buy me one

It's very tempting. But I think I'll wait until it's had a bit trial run by a few others first.

Spoke to Mike at Bintel on Friday - Lightbridges are just waiting to clear customs should be in the shop (Sydney) this coming week.

Also not too many left from this consigment.

I have to put the wallet away and switched the engine off. I just emailed Don and he told me the LB's won't hit the wharves till THIS Friday 10th. Hopefully they will be available sometime the week after.

Would it be worth waiting for the GS Truss Tubes to come in to Andrews?

Might be worth waiting for the GS truss tube if you have LOTS of time on your hand ! (3 to 6mths)

John if I may suggest something.

Many in the US has been very dissapointed on unpacking their new LB to find their primary mirror scratched by a dislodged mirror cover bouncing around in the box during transit.
If you get the opportunity to open the box at Bintel and inspect for damage before taking it away, you might save yourself some heartache.

Good advice, geoff.

Sometimes, as hard as it might be at the time, you need to just take a breath amid all the excitement to carry out a few basic checks.

It is a good point Geoff, but one would hope that Bintel being Bintel they would have already checked the packaging contents as they do with the standard dobs.

Me thinks they are going to be very busy down there for the next few days.

Thanks Guys, It's very good advice. I was going to check everything before parting with my hard earned.
The main reason these scopes have been delayed approx 6 weeks was because of the problems they had ( Shipping + not securing the mirror cover down= scratched mirror ) .
Scopes that have been delievered in the US since the fix are now arriving in good order.
BUT!!! I've read a few posts where the delievery company not Meade are the culprits. You would think that if a box has in big type FRAGILE written on it, that you would take care of it. Boxes are still arriving with chunks out of them, as if they were used as footballs.
I'm going to Bintel to pick mine up, hopefully eliminating that problem.
I'll post a first light report as soon as I can.
