Jetstar part sun transit

Jetstar JQ763 ADL-SYD part sun transit. Happy i captured some nice engine vapor trails. Believe or not, the previous two planes that flew over both covered the sun but i missed them. I thought i better set up after seeing the 2nd plane transit the sun. Glad i did!
Colour added after in post processing.

Apologies for all the watermarks but after my previous sun/plane transit image being used on other websites without permission ( including one where my name was cropped out) i plaster watermarks over my images now.

500D-EQ6 PRO manually controlled-power off- White light solar filter-SWED80 PRO gold model.
Original image is a RAW file.

Pic#2 straight out of the camera with very little processing.

Hi Steve - looks good. I thought I may get a few transits last weekend - there were about half a dozen near misses!
I have never imaged one but I did see a plane on the screen while I was not imaging - the plane was basically side on and I was able to see the sunlight pass through several windows - I was at 2.5 powermate and i am sure i saw a silhouette - that would have been cool!

Thanks Leon. Yes i love that top one also. It's a lot more defined in the original image and when i get around to it, i will put a link up.

Thanks Matt. That would have been so cool. I dare say there there are not many images with the sun caught through the window like that. Would make for an excellent image.

I really love the transit images taken with the proper solar scopes and filters that show so much detial on the sun. I would love to get a proper solar scope one day.

Thanks Justin. Yep, any East or South East departure from Adelaide goes straight over my location... Well most do anyway as they take off and bank left over the gulf. It increases the chances dramatically and on certain times of the month, there are more chance than normal. Especially with Moon transits during the day. This is only my second sun transit and I have 6 moon transits with jets. Their flight paths follow very close to the same path as the sun and moon take.

Thanks even though I do live under a flight path, I still need to be "Johnny on the spot" and be there, set up and ready which is not always easy to drop everything. So I do believe the luck factor plays a roll, my location just increases the odds
There have been so many near misses. And so many time I have watched the shadow of a sun transit or seen one go over the moon while out doing school runs etc. I have 8 images in total of plane transits and I would have double that just observing them.
People must wonder when they see me looking at the sky constantly... What is so interesting up there? Little do they know
