Perth AstroFest 2013

Has anyone on this site announced the upcoming AstroFest in Perth? It is on Sat 16th Feb at the Curtin Uni in Bentley. It is a great function with at least 3000 people attending over the past couple of events. See http://www.icrar.org/news/astrofest-2013 for more details.

Ill be there with the 25" flying the Perth Observatory flag. Unfortunately the 30" is indisposed, so just my big lump this year.
Agree, the Perth sky glow doesn't bring out the best in the sky. Still, it's a great way of raising awareness amongst the tax paying and voting public.
Cheers,
Andrew.

Don't think there will be much in the way of observing going on, according to the program it ends at 2130. Seems more of a night of speech/eduacational talks than a hands on viewing thing (jump in and correct me if I am wrong). Unless they will let us set up for the rest of the night on the oval afterwards...

There's usually a few hangers on, but last year they switched the lights back on at 10:00pm.
Moon and Jupiter will probably do for most of the public attending- I've been asked if I can put 253 up, but I think that might be a bit optimistic!
Cheers,
Andrew.
