A cloudy night in Melbourne

I was really in the mood in going out tonight but the clouds have returned

Is it clear in your area tonight?

Welcome to Melbourne, the fail whale capital of earth

We had a lot of clear nights this summer, except all of them had hopeless PUS seeing conditions such that looking at Jupiter will give you motion sickness.

I'm sitting outside now. Set up and align in beautiful clear dark skies. Connect up the camera and wham - in they come. Totally clouded out. All the weather sites and satellite pics showing clear skies - NOT.
Will try and wait out the clouds.

Clear skies - not here

Beautiful night here in Colac. One of the best of this Orion season.
Could easily make out all of the Running Man neb, the flames was possible with direct vision and I think I may have caught a glimpse of the G star in the Tarpezium!

Nice and clear outside here. Would be interesting to know what the seeing is like because it has been uniformly horrendous for weeks on end now. There has been a lot of clear nights though last couple of months.
