Alas Tomic couldn't continue his winning role...good effort though against Federer but over confidence and cockiness can only take you so far, maybe next year.
Mind you I do like Tomic cheer squad...The ATOMIC Kittens.
Tomic is no different to many of the young tennis players. He is very talented and brash. If you don't have these qualities and real confidence in yourself you can't succeed at this level. While I expected Federer to win I would like to have seen Tomic close out the second set.
However I have tickets to the finals at the end of the week and will be travelling to Melbourne and Federer is our idol and we wan't to see him against Djokovic or Murray in the final.
Hating a sports person that you only know from Media attention and not personally is rather childish.

PS While I am not a tennis fan or player about 15 years ago I practiced receiving missiles served by a young tennis pro. The first three serves knocked the racket right out of my hand. After that I found two hands wielded like a club could just stop the ball! B.G
When Federer started out he was a racquet throwing tanty boy too. He turned out to be probably the best ambassador for all sports, not just tennis. Tomic is young and had a lot of money and expectation thrown at him. It takes a certain something to cope with that and not everyone has it. Personally I think he has matured noticeably in the last year and hope his advisors continue good advice.
Yep was going to say, Roger was quite the opposite to his former self when he first started out on the circuit but has thankfully matured. Judging by the post match interview, Tomic has come a long way and good on him.
