Not looking forward to stepping outside my office today... it's apparently 42 in the Sydney CBD.

Hi Wade,

Stepping outside right now feels like sticking your head in a pizza oven.

For lunch, order sandwiches and iced tea up to the office would be my tip.

45.1 at the Obs at 13:50

I was just looking at the historical temps for Bankstown and the highest recorded, before today, was 44.8 although records for that station only go back to 1968.

EDIT: fixed spelling

Just went outside to get washing off the clothesline-its like a blast furnace! I'm at Padstow, which is near Bankstown.

Same here at Dundas - went to swap the washing out, and it is hot! Didn't notice because my son turned on the aircon 3 hrs ago.

Hehe, luckily I brought lunch in with me! I'm just hoping the predicted thunderstorm rolls in a little early
