This is my Extra Sneaky Spider NGC 2070 taken over two nights through clouds, smoke, full moon and rain.
Following on from my last sneaky attempt to image NGC 2070 through the clouds and smoke this time I set up the scope again with views to the south under the back veranda to protect the scope from the impending rain, briefly through the clouds and rain I focused the camera on NGC 2070 and set the camera on auto taking 25 second subs all night while I went to sleep for the night. Again I was hoping that sometime through the night I would get some useful subs.
When I woke up in the morning I checked the 400 shots taken on the camera 300 were totally wasted but 100 were usable (great 100 more cloud dodging shorter subs), so I added the extra 100 to the 80 from last time, a quick stack with no darks or flats and processing revealed this result.
180 X 25sec subs ISO1600 (75mins in total) No darks or flats
12” LX 200 (alt/az setup no guiding)

I know it is a bit rough but this is just an experiment to see if I can get reasonable images during bad weather, can’t wait for clear skies.
