NGC300 From Sydney

I thought I'd try an impossible target just to see if I could get anything from my lousy location. This represents about 5 nights of trying spread over more than a month. Seeing was so horrid that it is only about 4.5 hours of data total.

TEC140 + IDAS LP + G2-8300 1.14arcsec L=1.5 + 2x2 R=1, G=1, B=1 hr

I feel I was lucky to get what I did...now it's time to move on to new targets, though the weather needs to cooperate.

Many thanks, Alpal. Several times I just gave up on the data I have, but I think out of boredom and just plain obstinance I kept trying. The colour data was really the worst part of it; I just couldn't get anything usable out of CCDStack doing the normal routines. I finally tried something I read not to do and it actually was the only thing that worked. After aligning RGB I normalized the RGB images before doing the colour create (I also used the gradient tool on all three images). I tried a lot of "tricks" in photoshop too. I think the most dramatic changes were soft light and LAB colour....

I always use those.
Its' amazing what clever processing can do.
