Solar Eclipse from Melbourne

Surprisingly enough it was clear this morning. I just did some eyepiece projection using an old Meade 114mm reflector and a cheapo 25mm MA eyepiece. Lot of sunspot activity to complement the event.

Unfortunately the sunspots didn't come out as sharp in the pics as they actually were.

Here's a few of the better shots of the eclipse and the very advanced setup I used

I am glad that the nuclear winter gave way to clear skies for you.

cheers guys absolutely unreal that it was clear in Melb that early in the morning, the usual fare this year has been solid low cloud ad nauseam.

Actually during the eclipse there was low cloud hanging on the eastern horizon just under the sun, which eventually enveloped the sky well after the eclipse was over.

Hey great work there Sab! Sun spots and all!
Isn't it great when Melbourne weather sometimes co-operates.
