Well I'm just back from a week in Vegas where I attended the Society of Exploration Geophysicists' convention at the Mandalay Bay. What an amazing/weird/interesting/fun place Vegas is!! Where else can you see a Afro-American and a Latino Elvis standing next to each other? Or stay in a pyramid (The Luxor Hotel)? Or gondola down the canals of Venice - inside!!!
Anyway, one of the stands had a raffle for an AC-DC autographed guitar... I think you know where this is heading... the guitar is being shipped back to Oz for me...
A big thank you to Inova Geophysical and I've attached a couple of happy snaps to this post! Those of you who know anything about guitars will note that I'm playing "Highway to Hell" left-handed on a right-handed guitar, Jimi Hendrix style! As an aside, would someone be able to confirm that this is a Gibson guitar?
It looks like a Gibson SG special without the scratch board. There should be a serial number on the back of the head you can look up on line for more info.

Thanks Robin - once it arrives from the States I'll check the back...
it has only 2 control knobs not 4 so its not a true "SG style" looks like a SG Diablo? shame we cant see the head stock. It also has a full maple neck as well, very rare for Gibson to do that. Only one I can remember off hand is Zakk Wylde' Les Paul.
EDIT
Shame its not a Gibson Angus Young Signature SG autographed, that would get you a very good new scope I have been looking and my money is on this not being a Gibson Guitar.
Aaah! Mario, at least you have a fall-back into another profession in case you get PO with the current one! Imagine strumming your way to get all those astro-goodies that you always wanted!!
Good one on the guitar ( no idea if it's a Gibson ) but ain't Vegas just one hell of a place !!
It's an American Circus with all on show. Spent about 10 days there a few years ago, never gambled (well ok, about $30 ) but it was just such an entertaining place to watch it all happen.
Hope you had time to explore and enjoy it all ...

Brent, I couldn't agree more - just walking down the street looking at what is going on is fantastic. I've attached a picture which I think says it all - not the fact that there are two Elvis's (or should that be Elvi?!) but the fact that there is someone dressed up as the Las Vegas sign!!
Peter, you'll have a great time - you won't need to gamble to achieve it!
To the others, thanks for the comments and advice on the guitar, they're very much appreciated.
From the photo looks like you're somewhere up on the intersection by MGM for that shot.
Did you get down to old Las Vegas and evening lightshow ?
(I'm gonna have to dig out some of my old pix from there ..)

From memory it was down near Caesar's Palace with the Forum shops in the background. No we didn't get to old Las Vegas as we'd walked forever to get as far north as Fashion Show Mall. I believe old Las Vegas is further north again...
