First attempt at yep you guessed it, M42

First attempt at M42 with the ED100 and HEQ5.

24minutes total. stacked in DSS and processed with CS5.
Canon 1100D modded & Saxon ED100
Am not overly happy with the result probably cause of the moon glow, will reprocess later.

It seems every time we have clear skies is when the moon is up and when there is no moon its cloudy and raining
I'll get what I can take when I can!

Don't be so hard on yourself. That's a fantastic first attempt! You will do better when there's no Moon.

Yep, once that moon disappears you'll be laughing and showing off that lovely smile.

I always enjoy photos of M42, especially when they give a perception of depth from 2D image. Thanks.

Nothing wrong with that at all Paula. If I'd managed to produce that as a first efford I'd be...er...over the moon!

it looks like all the groundwork is in place and now just need those "ideal new moon" conditions...when they do come, I drop everything incl the kids lol.
Lucky my wife understands
Good stuff
