And this is exactly why I didn't apply for comp- I can't afford to see him both in dollars & pain. phew take a breath Suzy....

On a serious note Nettie, I honestly couldn't be happier for you.
Good choice with the IIS t-shirt & I know you will wear it with pride; I think it's the best outfit for the job as it helps to represent your lifestyle & dedication very well. As Brent said so well in his post- you are very deserving of this.
I can't wait to hear all the details- I'm so excited and proud for you that I could burst!
Excellent question by the way.

Oh P.S. again.. I haven't given up on the possibility of trying to get Brian to appear on IIS on a live chat- so Nettie, maybe you could pursue it with him if the opportunity arises? Great IIS publicity too. Tell him there's more threads on him than he's changed t-shirts (okay maybe not the last part).

P.S.S.S. btw as I type this he's currently in Singapore apparantly "resting" en route to Sydney. I stalk him just a little bit

P.S.S.S.S. pls tell me if his lips are as good in real life & everything else Liz said! Okay, really shut up now Suzy.....! Wait- I'm allowed to- for goodness sake how often does this opportunity arise! *sigh*.

Suzy, I'm going shopping with my big sister tomorrow.
She has good taste in clothes, unlike my tomboy self. LOL

That's great news.

Now here is a coincidence I only just found out after doing some research about Brian.
Back in July I was contacted by a fellow called Mark Thompson from the BBC, asking if I could help out on an Astronomy book he is writing.
Now, as it turns out, I find he worked along side Brian on the tv show "Star Gazing Live". LOLOL
So only one degree of separation!! And something in common to chat about.

I'm soooo glad I have you people to share this with.
Nearly all the folks I know in real life are like...."Brian who? He's a what? "

Congratulation JJJ, I couldn't think of anyone better to enjoy the prize.
Maybe you could present him with an IIS T-shirt and we can all look out for it in his next series

What a good idea. I don't have an IIS Tshirt, so I'll give him a pair of IIS Eclipse Glasses instead.
I'm also taking along my Sonic Screw Driver for him to sign, to commemorate his little stint Dr Who.

My bags are packed, the flights confirmed, I have window seats there and back.
Afternoon tea is being held here.

It looks very posh. It's going to turn this country girls head I'm sure.

Hi JJJ,

I would imagine he is out here for the eclipse as well?

If you had not spotted it, on ABC TV this coming Thurs Nov 8, he features on Catalyst talking about eclipses.
See http://www.abc.net.au/tv/guide/abc1/...-08T200000.htm

You might recollect there was a program where he went to Varanasi to watch the
eclipse there -
