Nice catch Graham. It does look like a sporadic based on direction. Did you see it naked eye? And how many Orionids did you bag?

Thanks Colin and Laurie,

missed it with my eye - was cooking dinner at the time! the flash got my attention from the cooker and by that time it was too late

there were quite a few nice meteors that night, all faint ones but that was the only fireball I captured on camera, murphys law i guess. I'll just have to try again next time

Nice one Grahame!
Good thing you decided to travel... nothing but cloud down here.
I had planned to capture some Orionids too, but, meh.

there was lost of low cloud and fog on the way back just after dawn - I dont doubt that perth was no good for the latter part of the night from what I was seeing on way back in.

Cheers! I would probably die of shock, I haven't seen a dark sky since my trip to Nannup in June.
One of these days I'm going to have to be less introverted, be more social, bite the bullet and join ASWA so I can head to Tammin or Dyandra.

Nice shot Grahame.

Good to see a 5D3 ISO 6400 F2.8 shot. I was wondering how it look compared to my D800E. It seems they look the same.

Greg.
