NGC 1851 Globular Cluster in Columba

Hi all,

I took this last week whilst observing the space between NGC2070 and M42.

I used the ED80 and stacked 10x60sec subs.

The next time I point here I intend to use the C11 to get a closer look and increase the exposure times...

Looked for comparisons online and there are a few but not many examples so feel free to image it and share

thanks for looking and comments and suggestions always welcome!

Have to have a look, Carlos. I think many of my photos have been lost over the years.

Found a couple , Carlos.
Rosette nebula, Nikon 200mm lens at f4-1 hour guided-hypered Techpan film, using a Lumicon H-alpha pass filter.
The Orion widefield shows Barnards loop, the Rosette nebula and part of the North Orion Bubble. This shot was published in the July/August edition of Southern Astronomy magazine. Nikon 50mm lens at f2, 20 minute exposure through Lumicon H-alpha pass filter.
Once again, I have had to cut back the resolution of the scanner to be able to upload here-hence they do not magnify well.

Hi Carlos. Beaut little glob there. I envy your little round stars

Maybe a little tweek with the shadows and highlights/tonal width might get a bit more out of that glob. Not sure, just a suggestion
I would like to see the comparison when you point the C11 on it

Wow Laurie I knew you'd have some beauties stashed away! They're really impressive, I can only imagine what they look like in the gloss of photographic paper! Thanks for sharing and if you find more definitely post them!!! We need a blast from the past forum

Thank Steve really appreciate your comments I'll give that a go, plus I also like the idea of collecting more data and throwing it into DSS. Since I took this one it's been overcast every night, glorious clear sunny days but cloudy nights so C11 is hibernating. Soon though maybe tonight if I'm lucky

Round stars attributed to the guider I can't recommend it enough its really easy to use.
