Taking RGB

Hi,

I have taken 3 hours worth of 10 min subs on M42 and I am going to do 5 Min 2x2 bining for each RGB. To reveal the core the plan is to do 5 minute, 2min, 30 sec and 10 sec. Can I use the RGB data, (5 Min subs) to colour my 10 min lum, as the colour data for my 5 min lum data????
Thanks

Mark

That might work ok if you construct your RGB image and get the core to how you like it, then create a luminance layer from that, then blend that into your long luminance channel.

If using Photoshop, you could use desaturate(from memory) under image>adjustments to get a luminance layer.

See if that helps.
