Humongous pier (or the bottom of a lamp post)

I bought the bottom of a lamp post with the intention of turning into a really solid pier. Hexagonal in cross section, heavily galvanised this could be cut down to be a really great pier. Unfortunately I wont be doing it. The 6" F15 refractor I was going to mount has been sold.

$50 but you have to haul it away, it stands over 2 meters tall.
