New Moon Predator.

Put the trail cams out a week ago, over the weekend I managed some interesting captures. Here is a link to one

It is an interesting challenge to set and program these trail cams,I have found taking the time, and trying to anticipate how and when an animal of interest might come along, and then getting some good footage, quite rewarding.

This male dingo, was a killer dog,and had killed 3 new born calves, one working dog and two goats,he weighed 17.35 KG,and had given me the slip for four months.

We're thinking is setting up some trail cams too at an uncle's farm. Foxes & cats mainly, & sadly crooks too. The last lot pinched 12 head of cattle about two years ago, and the farmhouse was torched just under a year ago. "Not happy, Jan!"

Perhaps NPWS should get onto these. The place we stayed earlier this year thieves had come in and knocked off the water tanks. A local gave them a description and rego number of a suspicious vehicle seen in the area but the coppers were 'too busy' to even visit the car's owner. If they had hard evidence perhaps they could get some action.

That's depressing to read Alex.Make sure you get 'Blackflash' cams and not the 'red glow' ones,if using for use against thieves. The only game the 'red glow' ones spooked was the dingos,so did not get those one,I've been very happy with two BF models I've had

There are trail cams that can now be programmed to send a MMS or email,at a given interval of time-eg every hour.Although from the little I heard, they could be problematic. But worth looking into.

I've never had the need to think about using trail cams for such, but there is a forum called 'chasingame' that has sub menu forums on such work as you mention Alex.good luck and hope you catch crooks.
