Some old Street Photography

Some old street shots. Taken while traveling 18 months ago. I did think of using one of them in the comp but decided on a different approach.

Canon G9.

The second shot here Rowland would be much more appropriate for the monthly comp than a car....

You are right Chris. However, it was taken some time ago and other than revisiting it recently, I can't say I consciously recognized its potential until now.

I will see, if I can get the time, which is the problem, to get a more contemporary shot.

Nice shots - they each tell a story. For me, I like how the people in photo 2 are "balanced" by the dog, and then I keep getting drawn back to the person in the centre. Where (in the US?) were they taken?

The first two were taken in Belize, the other in Cozumel. I like the middle one too. It is as depressed as it looks.

I wonder if anyone has fallen through that huge hole in the footpath in photo two?
Make a good claim on the local council!!!!
Great shots.

Thanks Andrew and Rick. In places it's worse. South of the river is a dilapidated shanty town.

Hi Rowland,

I am glad you mentioned this, as yesterday when I looked at them, I examined
them and tried, just as a game, to guess what part of the world they may have been from.

I thought at first somewhere in the Caribbean but the third one threw me because
I thought, maybe Jamaica, but the cars appear to be on the wrong side.
Then I thought maybe somewhere like the Dominican Republic or perhaps
somewhere in Central America like Nicaragua. So I wasn't far off.

I like the second one the most.

Not a bad guess Gary. Of the places we visited I liked Belize the most. I like the second one too.
