I wished i used a modded camera - antares region astrofest 2012

I butchered this version - will redo but I am uttertly disappointed in the fact that i didnt use the other modded camera to take this. bog standard 60D with the nifty fifty lens. Its just on 3hours worth - it needed another 8 hours with this setup...

I left it until the last night

Nah mate, 8 hours wouldn't have helped, the sun would've stuffed your run.

Oh Boy....I knew those 60Da Drivers would mess with your head, they did did't they????
Have you ordered one yet?

Nice result though mate, the lens looks good for what it is.

How long were your subs Dave?
I've found I've gotten the best colour with the nifty fifty, in this region, using only 3 minute subs. I don't know why, but time and again it's proven true.
Mind you, looking closer at your image, I reckon you can squeeze more out of it. Don't give up on it yet.

Man, how much I love these ultrawide fields! This one in particular is among the best bits of sky visible downunder. Definitely a modded camere will add some more signal, luckily sky doesn't change much year to year so we all have always more opportutities to keep doing better
Overall I like this image David, nice balance despite the little Ha contribution due to the camera limitation
Cheers
Marco

You're being a bit hard on yourself. Overall very pleasing. Background seems a bit magenta.

Hi David,

A nice looking photo.

Great colours and detail.

I really like the wide composition.

Looks like a pretty good start to me. Wonderful colours coming out. At least you thought to get this much on the last night.
