99.7% full moon

I took advantage of the clear melbourne sky tonight to try out the new HEQ5 and it just so happens that its a near full moon.

This is just a single exposure
Saxon ED100
Canon 1100d modded
ISO-100
1/640 sec
processed in CS5

Edit: added 1 more image thanks to Mike's advice

Nice effort Paula!

A couple of suggestions:

- Do an 'auto levels' in CS5 to bring the levels up. Or play with the curves/levels yourself to make it a bit brighter. It's really dark at the moment.
- There's a lot of purple fringing. I'd get rid of it by desaturating the colour. Either use a saturation and drag it all the way to the left, or simply change the image to greyscale.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Mike,
With your advice, I added another image my first post, I think it looks much better now.

Thanks again.

Yes, I like that.
Most full moons lack contrast, this feels real
