Give me a cheap setup to image Neptune/Uranus/Titan

I want to check for details on these obscure planets since all we have from NASA is ancient photographs of flybys and maybe Hubble.


I already have Canon EOS SLR and have taken pics holding it up to eyepiece on DOB.

I want to monitor details of possible clouds, etc.

Sorry I didn't mean Titan. I meant the Large Jupiter Moons. I guess Titan is a little too small to see even as a disc with a telescope.

I would see this as cutting-edge research.

I am hoping I can do this with a small very high quality scope with image stacking but if not I am fully prepared to buy a giant telescope as a research station in my backyard, as I have always wanted one anyways.

I am hoping to just modify my 8" dobsonian however. But I am realistic enough to know I guess I need a clock drive.

To do it you are going to need more aperture and focal length. Most probably around the 5+ Metre FL and 12+ inch diameter, not cheap. At that FL you will also need a good mount to ride it on/find it.

Oh, also you will want a dark site with stable skies.
