that brilliant. that is a normal 2" diagonal? is there a filter on the objective? now to be completely rude how much is the daystar? - edit i just looked it up - pricey but may well be worth it

Hi David,
There is no ERF attached to the objective, so no obstruction. The diagonal is a 2" regular with a UV/IR block screwed to it to reflect that energy back avoiding overheating the optical system.
Price wise is much more cost effective than to buy an equivalent system from Lunt for example.
I am very happy with this rig.

Best Regards,

Fernando

Hi Derek,
Great to see you here !! How is it going man ?

It is very good for prominences as well but not with the x4 power mate. For prominences I have to stop down the scope to 80mm and use a x2.5 PM. This way I still have the scope with f/30, which is required for proper operation of the filter, but I get a much wider FOV, an appropriate sample rate and less light absortion. I have been capturing some really dim prominences with the system setup like this.

Best Regards,

Fernando
