Such a shame about the plane trails - that would have been a cracker of an image. (I really like the front lighting on the trees.) Maybe you could argue that they're not in fact plane trails... but star trails under gravitational lensing?
Thank you so much Dave Really appreciate your great feedback. Yeah I'm really happy with "Rising Tide". Got a few more to process from the same location.
HaHa. Not sure I could argue gravitational lensing very strongly on that one The front lighting had nothing to do with me. A couple of cars went along the dirt rd behind me an hour or so into the sequence.

Great photo! (Rising Tide) .. brilliant result

I love the colours you have. Seem all I keep ending up with is dusty yellow/orange ... I need to find myself some water to shoot over I think

Thank you very much Roger. Shoot in RAW + jpeg and adjust the white balance to taste later or do a click grey point adjustment with the levels tool in PS.

Yes and no

If the sky truely does have different gradients of colour like I have dusty lower-mid altitudes of the skies, that shows up in the photo even when using the best white balance combination. You have to do specific removal of the colour from areas (gradient removal or such), still after that not necessarily leaving a nice rich blue like you have, because that's simply not what the sky looked like on the night and not what hit the chip.
