First Light Atik 11000

More of a date marker for me than an image for you I'm afraid

Got myself another camera. This is from an ATIK 11000 mono.

NGC-6188 .. 4 x 15minutes Ha subs.
Added a quickey with a touch of colour.

Tak FS-102@F6 = FL of 612mm.

For $6,000 it looks like a bargain compared to other brands.
Well done.

Atik 11000

I've enjoyed the 11000C very much, it truly is a great camera. I may go w/ the mono too. Enjoy!

I'll swap it in for a look this week Rick but my OAG has t-thread fittings so there will be an issue there for sure.

I got a few subs tonight and it's pretty sad really. Coma all around it and it's worse where the focuser sags but you could crop it out. Here's a quick M20 with 6x300sec Lum and 3x150sec RGB. I got no darks/bias for the temp it's running at tonight either. And the t-threaded oag will have to go looking at that flat

Thanks, Robin. Maybe I should stick with my little KAF8300 on the RC10!

Cheers,
Rick.

Uh-oh... I was hoping to test my RC8 + Canon 5DmkII. This doesn't bode well!

Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I thought that RCs are meant to suffer from field curvature rather than coma...?

Robin - Good to see you got the FW and OAG sorted looking forward to seeing more hot shots in the future.

It's definitely curved but it looks like coma to me. Here's a ccdinspector 3D plot of the Lum in that M20 shot.
Other plots tell me to check tilt and collmination as well.

The problem was never plugging the oag in, it was the size of the hole in the middle.
I'll need an atik or sx oag to get the size up but it looks like it needs a flattener as well so they might not fit in the path length.
I'll have to do some googling

An adapter for the FS-60 should be here next week so except rain

Worth checking on QHYCCD forums if you haven't already done so.
