Stirling Ranges

Some images of the mountains that combine to make the Stirling ranges , a short rugged chain 3hrs drive southeast of Perth . While not exactly high they do look mountainous with the main peak in the images the highest -Bluff Knoll -1073m . Great area to explore but very difficult during the warmer months .

Beautiful shots!

I remember the ranges well, went to view the wild flowers but a fire had just been through, camped in a cave before wandering away from the fire and blinded fell down a cliff! Certainly mountaineous, certainly beautiful.

Someone should have got some shots like that of our mountains before they all turned black this week. Smoke everywhere at the moment.

Cheers.....Johnathon it was a interesting contrast as I drove into the national park that contains the range the surrounding farmland was very dry looking compared to the natural green landscapes of the park . The range isn't far from the coast about a 1hr drive from Albany so there is some coastal influence I guess {Albany can show the 4 seasons in one day}, on that day there was a cloud belt that finished probably a half hour drive from the ranges.

PS: attached a pic of the pathway to the summit , its deceptively challenging especially when the temp creeps up but the reward is great with the view from the top .Unfortunately the wife wasnt keen on us going up so this visit this as far as i got {pic attached ]
