No good will come of it!
Sydney is a magnet for vice, licentiousness, corruption and poor time-keeping.
All that sun makes people indolent and shifty. Robs them of ambition and makes 'em think they can cook.
The cold and the wet build character and virtue as well as rheumatism - far preferable to a few months of hedonistic ease and comfort.

Hope I can become a regular at the Pony Club? It seems to be just an hour's drive from where I will be living.
But the calendar will have two permanent entries for the Snake Valley camps in March and November. Hmmm..... Sydney to Snake Valley in a day pulling a loaded trailer? Not sure!
Now all the arrangements that need to be made............

Hey Erick - Welcome
Great timing too, we are getting a new clubhouse built at the Pony Club as we speak!
Look forward to seeing you there soon.

Great, Allan! May I have a slab with a power cable embedded, coming up under my scope? My last club obliged Sorta just kidding - unless you do plan to lay a slab - then I'd be happy to talk about it to see if anything is possible.

Hey Eric!
Funny you should ask about that...
The renovations are nothing to do with us, being funded by the actual Pony Club --> (YES, Virginia, there IS a Pony Club ).
We just get to reap the rewards, I hope if they don't change the locks
But I did ask for a external Power point to be included in the new design, although I have not heard back as to whether this was granted.
(I even offered to provide the power point {from Bunnings} if cost was a concern).
Fingers crossed.
BTW: I don't think the Ponies would appreciate a concrete slab(s) in the middle of their competition yard. Ouch!

Hi Eric to the Pony Club when you come.
Great....another scope for 'Dob Alley.'
You could always bring your own 'slab', but you would have to share it with all the others.( My pref. Hahn) Just kiddin'. Lookin' forward to catching up.
Cheers

The position I have is year by year, elected. Well, last weekend I was re-elected for a further year, so I'll be here for a further 12-14 months. Some past incumbents have been in the role for 8-10 years, so I don't know what the future holds. My wife will now "pull the plug" on Melbourne and move up - so we can learn to live together again
ps. I'd better renew my Snake Valley club membership! Cannot have my sig file wrong!

Congrats Eric. I know it's what you wanted (the job that is, not the wife moving up )

Oh, Eric, what wonderful news for you, but rather sad for "us down here"!!
You're a fabulous ambassador, so couldn't think of a better front man... But SV just isn't the same without you
Well done, and good luck to Mrs Eric with her move

did yourself a big favour, ditching the worst climate in Australia. One day I hope to follow suit and move somewhere where annual sunshine totals exceed 0 hours, where rain is rare and doesn't require a jacket 8 months of the year...

hehe Sudan does have an agreeable climate, but.....
As we enter our 8 month long marathon of cloud and rain, I just have to ponder, it's a great misfortune that the early settlers lacked enough brain matter to render themselves incapable of colonising the Pilbara....
I mean, if they wanted to replicate their motherland's climate, then why in the holy name of crap did they just not stay home? Honestly...let's say if someone spent the last 40 years of their life eating brocolli and suddenly had the choice of a lifetime supply of either brocolli or KFC, then why on earth would they choose brocolli? I just don't get it.

They like their arteries??
BTW Plibara skies are carp. Try a bit further south around Meekatharra or Mt Magnet - now there's skies.

Then there's no point in moving to Sydney. Eric's brought the Melbourne weather up here. The last extended sunny period was September.

I'll be back! Hopefully March 2013. Solar eclipse trip gets in the way this year.

NOT GUILTY! M'Lord. The trailer wasn't big enough to bring all this rain we have had. And I arrived in July 2011.
