Mars from Melbourne this morning March 29

Mars taken in very good seeing this morning at about 12:30am from Melbourne. The air was never quite still totally, but as good as it will get in Melbourne I think for this Martian apparition at only 40 degrees elevation.

Lots of haze and cloud around Elysium and Arcadia. Good view of Mare Sirenum, Utopia and Alsyonius Nodus.

very nice detail John - especially considering the 40deg alt. looks like it could be good again for the next few nights down that way - good luck. Regards Ray

A good effort John, one point to consider is that this was not a favorable apparition and that Mars is shrinking as we speed away from it which provides some degree of perspective when looking at the quality images, such as this, that are being posted.

Well done.
Regards
Trevor

Clouded out tonight thanks to Melbourne weather! Just as well, as feeling really sleepy going into work with limited sleep.
