Conjunction: Jupiter, crescent Moon, Venus and Pleiades - 26 March Brisbane

Hello,

Here’s my effort at recording tonight’s conjunction between Jupiter, the crescent Moon, Venus and the Pleiades. I used a bit of creative Photoshop dodging and burning to try to manage the overwhelming brightness of the Moon.

The tree line got a bit smashed by the stacking process, they didn’t move as the sky slipped down…how rude of them!

Cheers

Dennis

Hi Guys

Thanks for your nice comments – they are appreciated.

Wow, what a difference 24 hours make though! I’ve just had another look at this and I reckon that I’ve gone a little over the top with the Noel Carboni Actions and the DeNoise in Topaz in an attempt to smooth out the background and reduce the light dome of Brisbane.

Also, for the stack of 3 frames, I shot two from 1 bedroom window and then had to move the rig to another bedroom window due to power lines coming into frame, so the alignment had to be fudged for the change in position.

Here is a more “natural” image, a single 30 sec shot where I have toned down my over-exuberant processing.

Cheers

Dennis
