Wonderful image, Marcus. Beautiful color variation everywhere and so much detail you can get lost in there looking at it all.

Super res and colours!

Glad the weather cleared for you to finish it off.

Brilliant effort Marcus! I especially like the processing you've done on those dark globules. Actually, I haven't visited here (Deep Space) for a while; after all, it hasn't stopped raining for the past three months!! Over how long did you collect the data? I haven't done any image processing in yonks - I'll need some refresher lessons from the master I think!!

Thanks Rich! Makes me want to when I think about what Sydney weather used to be like - plenty of clear nights! Now they're as rare as once or twice a month or two if you're lucky!

Thanks Steve. I was pleasantly surprised by the depth and variability of the colour actually.

Cheers Rob! I like to post full res because it allows the viewer to swim around in the image - no need for multiple versions, just zoom in and out to see the detail you want to see!

Thanks David. No special processing on the globules mate. I applied progresssive high pass filtering and unsharping to the whole frame to bring out the detail & contrast. I used some fairly large scale layer masking of course plus I had to preserve the stars from bloat.

That's a great shot Marcus. The processing, details and color saturation are just spot on. A lot of details but it's still smooth and natural. You can dig in and still see fine structure. Best rendition around.

Thanks Marco - much appreciated! It would have made a good Valantines gift (printed & framed) if I'd finished it in time - that's what I was intending. Maybe next Valentines I'll print a dozen off
