Mars Feb 24 UT 15:00 UT

Finally got some better than average seeing and got my best look at Mars so far.

Because the conditions were stable for quite a while, I got a chance to try several different captures. Here is the image I liked the best. It shows a hint of detail in the polar cap, some surface detail, the clouds around Olympus Mons, and the cloud around the Tharsis volcanoes just on the edge of the limb.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks Rob.

I played around a little more, sharpening things up a little bit. Probably shouldn't go any further with the sharpness, but this does show the polar cap a bit better.

Nice image Ivan. I was imaging about the same time at Clayton but I think the seeing was around 6ish down where I was.

Ray, thanks for the comment.

Paul, looking at my notes I rated it 7/10, but when I look at the B channel, maybe it was a bit less. Still the best I've had here in town for a long while.

Nice work Ivan. Are you using Emil's AS!2 to align & stack with?

John, yes I am using AS!2. It seems to work better for me on marginal data, and is quicker than Registax6.
