Monoceros & Carina 100mm Ha widefields

Here's my two shots from the other night. The moon turned out to be a real nuisance for the cone/rosette shot. Carina was good but I got only one 20min sub and the guiding was very average on it.

I uploaded larger versions here and here.
It was still good to get out. Beautiful night.

Can't imagine why you would have tried the Rosette if it was Sat night the moon would have almost been in the same field of view

A crop of the main nebulae from the Eta frame would look good I recon.

Yeah I know. But I really wanted to have a shot at it. Call me optimist. I stopped after the first sub on Eta. Looks ok in the context of the widefield which is what I wanted to capture but up close is a shocker. Next time I'll rotate the frame 90 degrees and get the chook in there as well.

They turned out pretty good despite the difficulties of the moon.

Greg.

Really love the Eta widefield, 100mm seems to frame the area nicely, now to play spot the dso. To quote a line from Dickens " Can we have some more please " . Excellent work.

Thanks again Marco. If it wasn't for Ha I wouldn't be imaging at all. The weather has been too unpredicatble to justify a long week-end drive for a long while now and the light pollution from my backyard has reached a level where there is absolutely no point trying anything in color. Even Oiii suffers from light gradients at home. That's how bad it's become.
