One little, two little, Three little Messiers

Hi all,

Happy New Year!

My first three images of 2012. What a better way to start than shoot off a few Messier Objects. Here we have 3 Open Star Clusters, M46, M47, and M48.

All taken with a Canon 400D tracked on an Alt/Az mount, 80mm f450mm refractor. All 10 x 10sec subs at ISO1600, Darks, Flats and Bias frames adjusted. All Combined using Deep Sky Stacker, and BackyardEOS for capturing.

Simple Astrophotography that anyone can do on a budget

Nice one Andrew. NGC 2438 visible in M46 there. Sorry, that may be obvious to most but my newbie excitement hasn't waned yet . HNY to you too.
Cheers
Dave

Ooh - edit to ad this "The planetary nebula NGC 2438 appears within the open cluster M46, at its northern edge. It was discovered by William Herschel in the 1780's who catalogued it as H IV.39."

Of course I might be wrong!
