- iOS5 compatibility
- Eclipse shadows for any Planet<-->Moon pair
- Many invisible things for better performance and for future updates
- Background from rear camera in Follow Sky mode (not very usefull feature, just for fun)

Is there a way to add comets to Redshift on the iPad?

Doesn't look like it Roger. Pretty limiting.

Ok, too little space for SkySafari screens in native threads.
Want to motivate us? I think this http://users.tpg.com.au/vtabur/2011w3/2011w3.htm works better

That's great, but Roger was looking for it in an iPad app and the comet is here - today. I put up the screen shot because it shows the comet in question, and this could help Roger out with his immediate requirement.

Thanks Chris & RS_team. Every app can't do everything, I'm happy to accept each has its limitations, always room for more than one. Just like astro clubs and forums

Feature request for Redshift on iOS:

I often want an equatorial grid displayed. Ideally the grid would continue all the way to the poles to show exact north & south.

MacOS X version is released

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/redsh...15282894?mt=12

It's based on iOS version with some additions:
- extended date range 1000AD - 3000AD
- 2.5M stars (Tycho)
- Object download/update (bright satellites, comets, asteroids)
- Sky Diary (events, solar & moon eclipses at arbitrary date range)
- Dictionary (offline info)
Supported languages at the moment: English, Deutsch

Planned but I can't promise the grid will appear with nearest update.

re. screenshot in post #27

RS_team, I don't think your screen shot is going to win over too many people without further explanation.
All I see is a lot of objects(?)/labels(?) that shouldn't be near each other.
What's going on there?

gb.

We've added 3D-models of some nebulas in the recent update (version 1.4). That screenshot shows the Redshift's sky when the observer is near Orion Nebula. To the right of the screen you can see the part of the nebulas list for which such models were created.
