I have comtactede Sky publishing a few times now and because I dont have a credit card they wont even answer .
Is there anywhere in Australia where I could get this collection?
I cant imagine any thing better than on a wet night popping in a disc or three and perusing the , awsome last 70 years of our Hobbie .

Hi Brian,
Re DVD 70 years of S&T. I have this set and it is really great. To look back at the issues post war and see all the nice goodies available is really neat. I wish I could get my hands on some of this stuff. Love it.
S&T in the US doesn't often answer queries, I have found. But I would keep trying though or contact Australian S&T.
You may be able to order it through the Australian Sky & Telescope site. http://www.austskyandtelescope.com.au/ They may be able to order it in for you.
Cheers Peter

I don't know how to get around the lack of credit card. Could you get someone with a credit card to order it for you? Seems to be on special at the moment.

I used to subscribe to Sky and Telescope , when I lived in NZ . they have known me for years ,
I think they might be a bit shy as now I am trying to order from here in OZ .?
Paronoid ?
They know me but I am communating from another country ,
I dont have a credit card any more and I wondered if Bintel had any of these?
they would sell well.
I think so .

To order, call (02) 9439 1955 with your credit card details handy, or use the order form in the current issue of Australian Sky & Telescope magazine. Postage and handling charges apply for all overseas orders and for total Australia orders under $30.

Yeah Brian, it is a neat set to have. I use it frequently, usually when they mention in the mag to see a previous issue. S&T are now doing an annual disc as well. The set goes up to 2009 and there is a separate disc for 2010.

Thats why I want these , One More Time ! .

Now that I have the DVD set, I am gonna sell off the printed mags, probably to someone locally. I have 26 years of them.

Woaw ! Peter , hows about donating them ?
To me? he. he ., sorry mate , I know how you feel , I did not want to leave 20 years worth of S&T and Astronomy mag's in storage in NZ so I donated the lot to the local High school , they have a strong science department there and will get good use out of them .
I will get these DVD's , soon , but I have just splashed out on a 127mm triplet ,, Merry Christmas to me ...
Cant help my self. !

 Bang on Brother !
This sort of thing keeps my faith in us human being's alive , there are so many bad people out there , it's scarey and a lot of my friends outside astronomy are at witts end , dont know what to do ? , walking the tight rope with this is a sad , sad situation we live in . , so to say , Stevie Ray ,
Its awsome to be part of this my self..
Thanks Peter.

Brian, it is a scary world, but I don't think it is as bad as one may think. Problem is these days is that everything is beamed live onto the Internet and into our lounge rooms and it makes it seem much worse than it is. There are just so many people now that you would have to expect things to get worse a bit.
I just don't get out enough, I suppose?
Thank you Brian.

 Thank you to Brother ,
On the last month before I left NZ ,and my last public night I was present in 2008 one of our members had a nice pair of 7x50 binos stolen , this was not discovered until we were locking up for the noght , we searched but to no evail . .
Me being the president of the ' Northland Astro Society' at the time went back up on sunday morning for a look in day light , . I found Brian's ( another Brian) binos trashed in a thousand pieces on the road side below the observatory , my heart sank ! .
I had an idea who it was that done this as I always set my 6 inch refractor up out side on the observing deck , and could keep an eye outon the happenings ., but with no evidence ??? what can you do? .
Brian is a retired science teacher and would have given his binos to any one that asked ..
Mongrels ! , I hope karma's got them .
thats all I can say .
Brian.

I'm with you bro, Karma will get them. People usually get what they deserve, even if it takes a while. I know how he felt, for I have had stuff stolen from me too and I also suspected that I knew who it was, but like you, couldn't prove it!
