First Attempt - Jupiter

Last night finally had a go at imaging Jupiter. The seeing was not the best...... stars were twinkling quite a bit. Probably did not help that Jupiter was still fairly low. It was only about 10pm......... I do realise most people tend to image closer to morning I suppose allowing maximum time for heat to dissipate from the ground etc..., but it was a work night .

As for processing........ a lot to learn.

Anyhow, managed to capture a couple of avi's with the 12 Inch GOTO dob, together with a 2.5x Powermate and a DMK21. The image was processed in Registax 6.

cheers,

Daniel

good going Daniel. for the next few weeks, imaging a bit later can also help by reducing the amount of atmosphere you are looking through - and it gives the scope more time to stabilise thermally. Regards Ray

2nd Attempt Jupiter

This time in lieu of the 12 inch Dob, I had a go with the ED120 plus 2.5x Powermate. Captured with the DMK21.

Cheers,

Daniel
