Wireless mouse problems

Hi all,

I recently bought my wife a wireless mouse for christmas for her to use on the laptop instead of the finger pad thingo. My 20 month old sonlikes it too and played with it, took the battery out and now it wont work. The USB side is fine, the actualmouse doesnt even light up anymore. I changed the battery for a new one bu this didnt help either. Is there a way to get it working or is it a lost cause?

The mouse is a Microsoft Notebook wireless mouse 4000 or something like that.

Silly question, but is it in the right way? L.
ps. Not sure, but if it was put in 'reverse polarity', you might have blown it!

Once you've taken the batteries out, wireless mice need to be "connected" to the receiver by pressing the "connect" button on the receiver and the little button (using a pen/pin) under the mouse.

It should work then.

Hope that helps.

Wireless mouse problem Solved

Okay I rechecked what was going on and found that the little tab that the battery and main boards connect to was not making proper contact. I fiddled with it and now it is working properly.

I didnt need to reconnect the mouse either worked straight off.
