I still can't believe it...
I've attributed a good deal of my business and personal successes over the years to his company and technologies. He will be missed.
RIP Mr. Jobs

Yes a sad day indeed. Damn Pancreatic Cancer, nearly 100% death rate. Pretty sure that was what got him.

It doesn't matter how rich you are, life is an uncertainty, so make the most of it, I didn't know the man, his good or bad points but he has left behind his mark on society.

Steve Jobs - who hasn't been touched by his genius?
Thanks H for the heads up,
With Pancreatic cancer, the end is predictable unfortunately. We have lost three close friends to this traumatic end to life in recent years.
My first contact with personal computers accurred in the early 1970s and yes it was with an Apple II, then an apple II+. But Steve's greatest impact on me was the night at Brisbane Computer show when I met the Apple Lisa (c.1983 ) - I was spellbound again.

So much promise for too much money - but it became the pioneer of the GUI in personal computers it led the way to Macintosh, Microsoft Windows and beyond. The sad part was this period also led to Jobs leaving Apple.
But once Jobs returned to Apple, his innovation again, eventually put Apple back to the top of its market segments.
With pioneers like Jobs and Gates no longer driving innovations, its questionable whether we will again see individual genius visually driving innovations in the market place.
Its interesting that all my children (and soon my grandchildren) now use Apple products for personal computing and communication.
Across more than two generations, the world has definitely benefited from Steven Jobs genius and evolving vision.
RIP Steven Jobs

Wikileaks have apparently released a number of documents today showing he had HIV/ AIDS. Questionable timing for sure.
I'm not a fan of Apple products but he certainly had an impressive career and built up an amazing company - his passing is indeed a sad occasion.

That's been around since January 2009. And, Wikileaks also said at the time that they suspected the documents were fake.

So why release new documents on the day of his death if they think they are fake?

Hey,
My personal feeling is, let's stay on track here, can we ?
Steve Jobs himself was a towering figure in IT, once or twice in a generation.
Apple the Company, well, that might be another thing, especially in Oz, but Jobs the innovator, what a loss.

Mark,
I've just visited 3 mirrors and can't find the documents (at least on the front page, where I assume they would be shown).

Been using Apple products since '92.
Steve Jobs has left behind an amazing legacy of innovation.
I hope Apple continues to be the exciting company it is today thanks to Steve's influence.
RIP

Yes , I was relying on Twitter feeds and I guess some people are doing Google searches and finding old Wikileaks articles and thinking they are new. I cant see anything on Wikileaks either so I do apologise for not checking sources.

wow. This is sad indeed
Whatever you think about the company, the products, or the man, Steve will go down in history as an individual who changed the way we think, use and appreciate technology and technological advances in the early years of the 21st Century.
Jobs, Wozniac, Gates, Ballmer. For me at least they are the founding fathers of the modern computer age.
The Apple website H has provided links for is so beautifully presented.
And that bloody panreatic cancer
Doug and Chris, I too have been using Apple products for a long time (Macintoshs, Lisa!) and I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiments.
RIP Steve Jobs.
