Petrel Cove

I took this image nearly a month ago and only just got to the processing. I had several subs with various degrees of lighting on the landscape but none were what I really wanted. In the end I went with a blend which is ok but still not absolutely to my liking. Overall it is a nice shot but I want to take another one from there with the Milkyway more over on its side. This month might present the chance to do that.

Good stuff Paul!
Nice bit of 'artistic for thought' with putting the car head lights on the point!
Like the way the Milky way leads to West Island.

I use to pass Pettie Cove to when the road stopped just over the hill and walk on to surf Kings Head... that was in my teens back in the late 70's.

Thanks for the memories!

Rich

Hmmm, just something to do mate. A mate and I have been planning these shots for some time now. I see so many great landscape shots with the Milkyway featured I wanted to do something like this myself. I have tried a couple of times but still trying to find the perfect location. Something nice for the wall is my aim.

Rich, glad that brought back memories. I remember this spot well as a kid and walking around the bluff and being in awe of the region.

That is amazing - your view of the milky way is just wonderful from your area.

Nice one Paul, on the topic of arty sort of shots, no good asking me. My idea of art is something painted with a brush that you wouldn,t hang in the lounge room.

Nice wide field shot though. It almost looks phosphorescent.
