Nicely done big boy...
Congrats to all the other winners
Well done those that put in a big effort but didn't get that big recognition, but still got into the final selection process.

Congratulations you guys. Well done.
You all do such beautiful work, it's well deserved.
Young Jathin Premjith won Junior Astronomy Photographer of the Year. He's awesome.
We need him on IIS to inspire the youngin's and us oldies.

Thanks guys, Well I got the email from Mike this morning and took a look and am shocked to see that I am the highest placed Australian. Although it is good to see so many Aussies in the field and glad to see I picked the overall winning entry. Mike you owe some beers.
Interestingly my run of coming second has not been changed.
Congrats to Mike, Steve and Peter on the wins. All beautiful images.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words and congratulations to the other winners. I must admit I never expected this image to go anywhere. I didn't even enter it in the Malin awards.
Cheers
Steve

Nice to see a number of Aussies in the final mix.
Well done guys, particularly Steve Crouch who will enter more of his efforts in the Malins next year eh??
Sadly the exhibtion wasn't ready when I was up in London last week, but I promise to take some piccys of all the Oz entrants work if I can get back there before it closes.
Damian Peach's winning Jupiter image is well deserved... Details and srtucture on Jupiter *and* its moons of the like I've never seen before, other than from Hubble.

Just to clarify, I did enter a montage of planetaries of which Shapley 1 was one in the Malins but it didn't get beyond first base. Clearly I might have been better off just entering the single Shapley 1 image.

Fair 'nuff, in any event I've always rated your low-fanfare images as amongst the best in Oz
Now, can anyone do something about this lousy east coast weather???
