NGC 253 reframe

This is the first rough, quick process of 2 of 3 sets
done last night.
I rotated the camera from its usual E-W alignment to try and
frame this huge galaxy on the DSI II chip.
Looks reasonable...in the dark...on my work lappy...at 10 paces
FL 1524mm / 12" Newt / Baader IR

PS thanks to the ratbags in chat for the company too

Steve B.

Nice detail Steve....you'll just have to do a mosaic!

That's come up well, plenty of detail. A mosaic will be awesome.

Lovely detail Steve. But you only got half of it mate. You need a bigger CCD for sure.

Thanks guys, yep a mosaic is what I meant in my OP...

2nd set added. Only a rough go so far. A bit noisy overall , seeing
wasn't brilliant and I started set 1 when it was only 30 degrees up....oh yeah and
the focus was a little soft....excuses...but great to be imaging again.

Wow, hope you get a chance to add more to this. Possibly colour, too?

Was fun in chat.

Excellent Steve. At the FL you are operating at, you sure pick out some great details. A mosaic of the target will really top it off. Just need to ensure you can match the stellar FWHM between the panels to get a seamless result. It should be a stunner. Well done.
