Fun getting back in to the astronomy.. M8 & M20

G'day all,

After a couple of months no activity due to weather and dead PC I took it easy last night, not jumping straight back to supernova or comets but instead enjoying some easy shots with the Megrez 90. Had a great time!

5 x 5 mins
Canon 350D
800ISO
Megrez 90 with Borg DGL
Unguided on the PME

Was great using my newly fitted FCUSB on the Megrez and having reliable USB with a new active USB cable ducted recently.

It is a bit like that with the weather of the last month or two here isn't it? But it's been great having a good winter with somewhere near average rainfall.

Yes, if only there was the time to enjoy it all

It can take a bit of mental effort to get back to it .. but I am really enjoying the simple approach right now, not trying to push myself too far such that I would burn out or it all seem just too hard.

Thanks .. yes, it is. I like the subtle nature to the colours too. I try and avoid the over-processed or high contrast looks.

Nice image Roger. Glad to see the break has made the return to imaging so good. Sometimes a break is what we all need.
Good to see you back.

Roger, this is a lovely entry as you get back into the saddle. I hope to see more of your wide field work again. Try not to leave it too long.

( that doesn't sound right does it. I meant that IIS is full of mateship, but you knew that anyway didn't you. )

Nicely done subtle image. Taking it easy with familiar objects is a good way to go when motivation is flagging.

Cheers

Steve
