Comet Garrad rate of travel?

Can anyone tell me what Comet Garrad's current rate of movement is in arcsec/min or similar?

Paul,

On Friday it moved from 21:20:50.5+13:44:53.3 to 21:20:52.6+13:44:42.4 in about 15 minutes. That's the cloud induced gap in my image.
So something like sqrt(2.1**2+9.9**2)/15 = .67 arcsec/min. That shouldn't be that unreasonable a guess with the small declination.

Hi Paul - I ran it through Starry Night for 10-11pm tonight. Total movement was about 2' 26" in the hour, making a rate of 2.4 arcseconds/minute.

Pity, the JPL Small Body Database Browser includes apparent rates of movement in their asteroid ephemerides, but not for comets.

Where do I find Comet Garrad?

I have read hundreds of viewing reports, seen dozens of pics and videos, but no-one has mentioned what constellation it is currently in as it moves through the sky.

For some reason I can't get it to upload to Cartes du Ciel either!

Please tell me where it is or what it is near.
but also, please don't give me a bunch of numbers like Andrews above. I can't speak Numerics

In Words, not in numbers - it is in between M15 and the head of delphin.
It moves in direction head of Delphin.

Ken, astronomy is largely numbers, but we have programs like Stellarium/CdC/C2A/TheSky to do the arithmetic for us.

And in particular Seiichi Yoshida's Comet for Windows. For some examples of it at work see http://www.aerith.net/comet/weekly/current.html APOD linked to the C/2009 P1 Garradd page listed there the other day.

What version of CdC?

2.76 will import comets from http://www.minorplanetcenter.net/iau.../Soft06Cmt.txt

3.x from http://www.minorplanetcenter.net/iau.../Soft00Cmt.txt

Look under "Setup->Internet" and "Setup->Solar System" (3.x) or whatever the 2.x menus were called.

CdC tells me that in the 24 hours from 7:30am today C/2009 P1 will move 59.5 arcmin. Tonight it wil be about half way between SAO 106796 and 106797 and 1.5 deg from NGC 7025.
