M8 & M20 Duo in HA

Took advantage of some clear skies this weekend. Took this over two nights and its also first real light for my new FSQ106EDXIII.
It did not disappoint, no more pesky angel stars!

Hope to do this object in colour so its just the beginning for this little imaging project.

2.5 Hrs exposure time (30 x 300 sec subs @ -30 Degrees)

Looks good Mark, don't forget to include NGC6559 as another object in your image. Also a globular on the edge of the field too. Did you have some guiding issues at all?

In the full size version I thought I saw some elongated stars in and around the corners. The elongation in going from top left to bottom right. I would not have sene it if the image was not that size I must admit. Perhaps it is a stacking related issue? I find that CCDstack often has one image it will not rotate or scale properly and this needs to be manually done to get it cloes to correct. Could be the same thing???

Other than that it is very nice. Are you going to do a narrow band of this area?? If so I look forward to the finished image. Perhaps more data tonight??

Ah yes, I did not bother looking in the corners.
The first nights subs (12) were all unguided given that they were 5 min subs, but the next night I decided to use the guider, so this may have been the cause.

Yes, now that I have my OIII filter sorted the aim is to do this one in a NB composite.
Just waiting for clear skies and tonight might be another opportunity.

Yes that could be the problem. I would have thought unguided would be ok at that exposure length.

Forecast is good for tonight so far. Maybe heading to the house to start the next project myself.
