Sensational Humayun... really sensational. That is a phenomenal bit of lens work. The subtlety in tone and colour is simply beautiful. You are one seriously good photographer my friend. I'm glad to be able to follow your lead and learn. I don't say that to many.
I'm renewing my passport this week... NZ here I come.
Really Surreal mate, that fog really makes this image, and the snow glazing the tips of the distant peaks are icing on the cake (ha haaa) - a new favourite of yours I think.
The foreground looks a little bit dark on my small screen, but I'm betting the colour and light on the mountain tops really makes up for it when printed large and very pleasingly dominates the eye. You'd be running out of wall-space at home by now would you mate?
I can see you becoming quite famous mate if you keep this up.
A wonderful composition processed in a masterly fashion. A most beautiful scene that oozes atmosphere and tranquillity.
Cheers
Dennis
Chris,
Eep, *blush*
Thanks, matey.
I have a number of renditions of this scene caught at various times during the twilight-sunrise process. This one was one of the earlier ones in time for alpenglow. My general goal is to capture pictures that look like paintings, and, this one, with the dark and brooding foreground really helped me reach my goal. There's a lot of subtlety throughout and it works quite well, I think.
Can't wait to go back and try for this again in a different season.

Rolf,
Thanks so much, my friend.

Marc,
Thanks, mate. That's the whole intention with all my works -- to look like paintings.

Thanks. It is a really beautiful place. I think I have a short video sequence of it as well that I took while setting up. Will end up posting it to YouTube. From memory, you can just hear a few bird calls, but, it's just really serene, otherwise. It was also very, very cold, haha.

Troy,
I'm no master, man. Just forging ahead with my own little obsessive compulsive need to make paintings, haha. Thanks, so much.
P.S. It was awesome to finally meet you. Next time, we'll go shooting.

Thank you, so much. You're a harsh critic of my work (I like that!) and am pleased you enjoyed this one.

Barry,
The image was metered for the mountain peaks for use with grads, and therefore the foreground has a somewhat underexposed look. However, it was naturally dark there, as well. I think the overall goal is realised though, in looking for a painterly look and feel.
Unfortunately, living in a studio apartment, I don't have any wall space to call my own. However, my parents are enjoying the fruits of my labour.
