Canon 550D @ ISO400
Canon 135mmL @ F4.5
37 x 2min exposures.
What a lovely piece of glass this is! Thanks to Ponders for the lend.

Added the repro.

How dark is your site? Are you in Kilcoy itself?
Impressive... makes me want to buy a DSLR sooner rather than an astro CCD camera later!!

Sorry to be picky, but I'd love to see the saturation come up a bit too Jeanette. Fantastic image though - love the star clouds and dust, not to mention that wonderful golden effect your getting come out so often now

Yes, I live on the edge of town though. I have a street light on the corner, but I set up behind the house, so it doesn't shine directly on the mount.
You can use the DSLR in the day time too.

Even with selective saturation, I can't seem to get good colour from the nebs. It all looks so artificial.
You guys are just too used to modded cams I think.

Probably what you mean by selective saturation, but bumping up the sat for just the blue, reds and magentas from Ctrl-U doesn't help a bit?
I'm probably a bit spoiled by PI too - lets you do non-linear saturation curves which is nice for boosting saturation in just the colour-poor parts of the pic.

Hi,

Very nice photos.
Sharp and so much detail.
I love the colours, especially in the second one. Your processing skills are excellent.

Thanks.

Ross.
