Never mind! I was seemingly in a perpetual gain for about half a week after one Red Rooster lunch so I wouldn't worry too much about it. It will come off easily!

Bouncing along at 91-93kg. Down from over 100kg but have hit the wall! Time to change gear it seems - but I don't want to be too hungry

I dropped 9kg in 6weeks on the Atkins diet. BUT that was under doctors orders because I had to lose it fast.
No cakes, biscuits, bread, pasta, rice, sugar, fruit, carrots, pumpkin or potato.
I had to take vitamin supplements to make up for the lack in the diet.

Sometimes it doesn't take much to get through a plateau. Even something as simple as adding in a few small snacks in between your main meals can help. Something healthy like fruit or some carrot/celery sticks even, that's what I did the first time and somehow it worked lol. I think I also changed what cereal I was having in the morning, as I got too much into a routine. Kind of makes your body go "what!? What's happening?" and it will respond

Wow J, that's incredible! When I first starting losing weight wayyy back in 2006, it dropped over at first. I lost 10kg in the first month, it was awesome! Haha. This time round, I've lost just over 6kg since the beginning of May, so I'm pretty happy with that Can't wait to be back in the 70's though! Ohhh, it's been so long... Only 3.6kg to lose and I'll be 79.9kg

Swap cereal (it's all sugar) for oats. It will make a huge difference.

Half cup of oats with about a cup of milk, cook and eat. nom nom.

We've had a visitor for several weeks so have been cooking more substantial meals than usual. Back to the two of us next week, so we can make changes.

* raw carrot/celery OK, more apples are called for. I like a nice apple.

* cereal - OK, I have one or two hi-bran wheetbix with Special K, toasted muslei and a handful of Brazil nuts plus low fat milk. Anyone see any problem here? OK, OK, I get the message!

Pretty much all cereals are bad. It's like candy in milk.

And you looked fantastic might I add! The healthiest and happiest you'd seemed in ages.

Good for you Shelley, put me down for 8 to 10 as well.

Well weekly report, I am happy to say I have dropped below the 80kg mark, last weigh in I was 79.8kg and that was this morning. I think I would have lost more but kids sausage sizzles and one night of naughty Hungry Jacks, kept my weight up near 81.5kg I just have to resist those cravings now... Still eating lite 'n' Easy meals for dinner, Lunch an Apple or orange, Morning tea I have 1 tuna and rabbit food sandwich, breakfast I just have a high fibre cereal. Seems to be working with the Walking I am doing also.

Seems everyone is doing really great, woohoo!

I've only lost 200g this week LOL, down to 83.25kg now. Had a really bad weekend food wise so serves me right still managed to do 4 days/45 mins each day of walking last week so that must have kept the kilo's from crawling back up. So I'm pretty happy with still losing a little bit. Aiming for a full kg or more this week, done 4 days of walking so far and intend to make it at least 6. Another 5kg and I reckon I'll fit back into my size 12 work pants. Ohhhh yeah!

Onwards and upwards

Hi Shelley & All,

Well done Shelley.

There was another weight loss thread recently that I contributed to occasionally but never bothered to do a further update. I've been on a diet since Christmas and my target is to get from 113.5 down to 90kg by the end of August.

And I found I've had the same experience as Erick. I made my interim goal of being less than 100kg by the end of April (I was 98.0) but things have slowed down drastically since them. I'm hardly doing anything different, its just coming off much, much slower now. I've only managed to loose 1.5more kilo (now 96.5) in the last 9 weeks and haven't lost anything in 4 weeks at all. So all-up, I've lost 17kg, 6.5kg to go but am beginning to feel as though I might have hit the wall and this is it. I'll keep going for another month and see what happens but I just don't seem to be loosing any more weight and don't know why.

With the transition from Summer to Winter I can now see why cold and hungry is so unpopular in 3rd world counties -- it is much harder to endure than warm & hungry!

Best,

Les D

Nice work, getting there slowly, I measured in at 79.5kg this morning... Even went into KFC, only to use the loo's there resisted temptation and left without buying anything...

Keep going, your doing well, just try and resist those temptations as much as possible. If you do crack, only have a small amount and work a little harder

Cheers mate and congrats on resisting temptation, that's awesome! I however did not...big time Ended up getting Chinese food last night and ate chocolate... not to mention bad snacks on Friday night when I went out to dinner with friends. And the left over bad food today... not happy with myself Need to learn the meaning of moderation and actually stick to that definition

Feeling really horrid now and intend to go for a very lengthy walk shortly once my ipod has synced with some upbeat music. At least things are slowly changing. Usually I would just shrug and sit on my butt all day, I'd never even consider going for a walk. Now I feel so so guilty and upset

Don't know why I do it when it makes me feel so bad! Silly brain!

Better luck for this rest of the day and tomorrow onwards. I have learnt a very valuable lesson this weekend...

I haven't done anything for four days, now. Busy with work/offsite training, and, it was my sister's wedding yesterday.
