Ngc 6559 & 6589 Lum

Hi all.
Managed to snag some time of this area in between cloud banks.
Didn't realise that it had been as far back as 2005 since I had imaged these two particular objects.
Love these two objects (some nice reflection in them!), so it was nice to see both of them in the same field.
Doesn't look like colour will be added till the next dark moon phase.

Was a soaking night for dew and had the fan going non stop to try and keep the tube to ambient. It helped but this is the first year dew has been a real issue!
Guiding had its moments as well. At times things were a bit 'pea soup-ish'
Still, happy with the end result, although some more lum to come and in the coming days if the skies clear will be adding Ha as a blend when I have some colour.
All manually focused... boy I miss auto focus (coming soon though)

Totally agree with Paul Ponders, I like a good mono image, probably a lingering attraction from my past days of B&W photography

The final shot will be even bewdifuler I am sure

Thanks a heap Paul. It took a while to find a nice balance with the framing. I took a few images, and decide I had to try and show the linking of the two objects by the dark cloud.

Thanks Paul ! It is something special especially with wider fields we have these days. To be able to fit both objects and show the amazing star field that it is nestled in is real treat.

Cheers Marc! I have found in the past, and it surprised me that with a fair bit of dew around that there are moments of really stable air that lets the ccd peer that little deeper into these nebs.. not all the time, but you just have to have a go and see what comes out!

Thanks Migel.... yep, me too! Funny, while I love colour, it was always those classic B&W portraits that really stuck in my mind....
I certainly am looking forward to getting some colour... but at this stage I'll have to wait.
