Weight Loss Challenge

I am setting myself a challenge. To get down to between 60-65kg by the end of the year and finally get rid of this flab once and for all!

In 2006, I went from 101kg down to about 73kg but have put on a fair heap of weight since then and was back up to 91.8kg in November last year By February I was back down to 84.5kg but I put on weight again on my holidays and was back up to 89.9kg at the beginning of this month

Back down to 84.5kg again and counting! Hoping that the lovely people on here could keep tabs on me so that I do not gain again and so I lose this weight for good!

Thanks all

Shell

Shell,

I, too, have begun a strict diet regime and gym every day. Want to get back to my pre-university physique. Here's to us!

Hi,

My pre-Uni physique is but a distant and lamented memory, but I'll try to match you Kg for Kg.

Cheers

My gym goal was to be under 93kg by end of current program - in the next week or two. This morning 91.5kg - Woo Hoo! Now, to blast through the big nine zero! Stick with it Shelley.

Well I have found the perfect way to lose weight and keep it off. Lose your taste buds and not have any saliva being produced. I guarantee you will drop to whatever weight you want and will never put it back on again. Aint radiation therapy to the neck great. You simply do not want to eat or drink, because you cant taste anything and it is a nightmare to swallow anything without washing it down with copious quantities of water.
I have gone from 107kg to 78kg and no matter what I do I cannot put any on.
I must admit, I would prefer to be in your boots, the thought of never tasting anything again is horrendous!

Well done Shelley. Sharing the goal publicly will help keep you focused because you'll have to report into us

I want my pre-packing-on-the-kilos physique again. I was so toned but now, alas, everything wobbles LOL. Looking forward to seeing your weekly progress also Geoff!

Mate, that sounds horrible, I really feel for you. While sometimes I wish I couldn't taste delicious things like chocolate and ice vovo's I would never actually wish for it permanently. Do they know whether the taste loss is permanent or perhaps just while on treatment. All the best Peter and take care.

Thanks Mike, that was definitely the plan! Keep myself accountable so I don't fall off the wagon

Thanks for everyone's support, I really appreciate it and it definitely does help!

As of this morning I am down to 84.1kg I was hoping for more but the past week and a half has been up and down for me so I really couldn't expect much LOL. Was really sick yesterday so that was a right off but got up and did my 45 minutes walk this morning and feeling much better

Until next weigh in...

I got the go ahead from the docs yesterday that I can start getting physical again.
After living on the couch for over a year, I'll be taking it very slow to start with. Walking before running.

When I stopped playing golf my weight went up to 12 stone from my normal weight of 10.7 (I can't convert to KG's without my calculator ). I could not get it back down no matter what I did (all around the middle). However last year I found a new weight loss method that I have not heard of before.

I had my teeth out (what was left of them) and got a new full upper set of dentures. They look nice but they make food taste so bland that I must have cut down drastically on my food intake without noticing.

I am now back to 10.10

Barry

Shelley, the taste is gone forever and it looks like the saliva glands are pretty well destroyed as well.
At least my cardiologist is a happy chappy

At nearly 6 foot & 69 kilos I certainly don't need to lose weight..! BUT at age 49 & on a carers pension, I certainly need to get back in shape...My 'midlife crisis' recently, therefor saw the purchases of (not a bloody Harley or a red sports car ) but a pushbike & a speed ball

You're a regular slim Jim, John.
Muscle tone, cardio and another 4 or 5 kilos to lose for me.

Peter, that's a right bugger of a side effect from your treatment.
In a few years time, they will be able to replace your damaged ones with new ones cloned from good cells, taken from you before treatment.
We have the technology.
So many breakthroughs are about to happen that are going to revolutionize the Medical profession.
I hope we all may benefit from these advances.
No, I hope that we don't have to benefit from them in the first place.

Thanks for the thoughts, didnt meant to hijack this thread. I know how hard it can be trying to lose weight, it was always a problem with me, I had "syndrome X" being a type 2 diabetic and no matter what I did I could not lose weight, it took Cancer to fix that problem up!!

I am getting back on the diet also. Good luck with it Shelley, it will be well worth it. I have started walking during lunch at work, I only get 30 mins so its a quick walk.. I am currently sitting on 81kg, and having lite 'n' easy dinners, lunch is a single sandwich with fruit, Breakfast is a high fibre meal with fruit also.. I only started this not quite 2 weeks ago and have lost 3kg. But being the beginning you tend to lose it quit then find a stable rate. Last time I went on a diet I got down to 75kg, but didn't stick to it, and put it all back on... not anymore, had enough of looking like an overweight beach ball

That's awesome mate! This can be a general thread where we can all check in weekly on our progress to keep us on the wagon And you are doing it with healthy food and exercise and that is the only proper way to do it!

Sooo, I'm naughty and I jumped on the scales again this morning... 83.45kg!? Could it be!? Gotta say, I'm tempted to go with it!
